This could be almost as exciting as watching other people's home movies...

In January, 1996, Dino (my SO at the time) and I travelled to the east coast for 15 fun filled days and nights (sounds like we won a game show prize...). Actually, I am looking at grad schools on the east coast, so we wanted to check them out and see the east coast. As you may remember, the Blizzard of the Century also occurred in January of 96. Yes, we saw some of it. In fact, when we left SFO, JFK still wasn't open and the pilot joked about how he hoped it would be open by the time we got there!! A rough itinerary:

Here's me at the captiol. D.C. was covered in snow.

Where's Bill???? Dino had an appointment, but when we showed up, he was in Bosnia or some such place. What gives? :)

Walden Pond, Home of Thoreau, in Concord, MA. This state was very nice but was full of CRAZY DRIVERS. Coming from California, we thought we'd seen the worst, but it was pretty insane out there.

And last but not least, MANHATTAN, as seen from the Twin Towers. You remember, that's the place that got bombed last year (or was it two years ago?). They had very high security, which unfortunately really made me want to yell "BOMB!!" I mean, they were waiting for something like that!! Didn't want to disapoint them... Obviously, since I am free to construct this page, I maturely resisted.

I can give you more highlights, including why we are banned from the Newark, NJ, Thrifty. For life.
